As fresh as lemonade on a hot summer day, the delightful Lemon Skunk strain is all about energy. This multiple award-winning sativa hybrid strain is widely popular for its skunky and citrusy lemon scents, flavor, and high THC content that can go up to 22%.

The Lemon Skunk strain was initially bred from two different skunk phenotypes, Citrus Skunk and Skunk #1, specially selected for their intense zesty lemon features. The Lemon Skunk strain buds are often from a forest to lemon-green color with some golden patches, bright orange pistils, and a coat of beautiful shiny trichomes that reflects all of its high potency.

A tremendous strain for daytime, a refreshing and relaxing evening, or just hanging out with friends.

Lemon Skunk is one of those buds that genuinely lives up to its name, as this strain’s aroma is skunky sweet while the flavor reminds of sweet lemons and other citrus fruits.

The primary terpenes responsible for this strain’s smell and taste are terpinolene, which has concentrations of 0.70%, and beta-caryophyllene in levels of up to 0.39%. Myrcene also has relatively high concentrations in the terpene profile of the Lemon Skunk strain.

We could say that this is a strain for users seeking to increase creativity and boost mood. The Lemon Skunk strain will generate an uplifting and peppy cerebral high that will induce happiness to even a euphoric state of mind. Yet, this bud will also make you enjoy the indica-related state of body relaxation often experienced in these types of strains within an hour or two.

This strain has various therapeutic effects that may help with conditions like depression, stress, anxiety, nausea, or eating disorders. Furthermore, the Lemon Skunk strain will perform great as a daytime pain reliever, and it’s a great help for those suffering from chronic migraines.

CBD and CBN levels in this strain can reach concentrations of up to 1%, which is a bit rare for a skunky THC-abundant strain. However, you can’t use the Lemon Skunk strain to treat conditions that CBD or CBN could. Novice users should be aware that too large doses can result in possible side effects like dizziness, anxiety, or paranoia.

The Lemon Skunk strain will get you into an uplifting, happy, and energetic buzz that will increase your cerebral activity while letting you stay focused. Once the sativa effects are gone, this strain will take you to that body relaxing experience that comes from the Indica side of this famous hybrid strain.

Lemon Skunk Strain Genetics

DNA Genetics bred the Lemon Skunk strain from the crossing of two different phenotypes of Skunk #1. These parent strains present an average THC level between 14% and 15%, but Lemon Skunk has reported grades of up to 22% of THC level, making it a respectable strain within the world of high THC strains since its commercial debut in 1985.

Their intense lemon traits specifically selected the two different phenotypes from Skunk #1 used to breed the Lemon Skunk. To come up with this magnificent lemony strain, Amsterdam´s DNA Genetics seed bank crossed a female, a citrusy Skunk phenotype from Lemon Man in Las Vegas with a prized Skunk frequently used for breeding purposes originally bred by Netherlands breeder Eddie.

Growth Information

The Lemon Skunk strain can grow perfectly indoors and outdoors. It is resilient and can handle wet and moist climates due to its sativa bud structure. However, its ideal growing temperature is between 68 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

If grown indoors, it is better to use either soil or hydroponic setups. The Lemon Skunk strain plants will need enough room to grow vertically. Nonetheless, switch your plant to flowering before they grow too big.

When growing Lemon Skunk outdoors, this plant can reach its fullest potential and will stretch to the sun while producing substantial yields of about 600 grams per square meter or more. It is recommendable to have a trellising in place to support the flowers and stems as they stretch.

Flowering Time

  • Indoors: 55 - 65 Days
  • Outdoors: October in the Northern Hemisphere and April in the Southern.

If you are all about citrusy cannabis strains, there are plenty of options besides the Lemon Skunk strain.
